We had a letter to the sports editor this morning in the Albuquerque Journal stating that the Lobo’s, 20 – 3,  just did not have it, saying he had watched the powerful, good teams from back east and had also watched the Lobo’s and the Mountain West and we, as a team and a  conference,  just did not stack up and could not win against the teams from back east. I am pretty sure we beat Dayton, is that “out west”?  Some folks said that about the Mountain West Conference for football, where we had five bowl team play other conferences and the only one we lost was to a WAC team, TCU losing to Boise State….I don’t know anything about the fellow who wrote that letter and he may well be right. But how come households all across the nation know teams like, Utah, BYU, TCU, UNLV, Air Force and yes, New Mexico….And folks, you will hear more…They are a good conference in every sport, including skiing, golf, tennis, swimming, cross country, baseball, soccer….So, Mr. Letter Writer, are your glasses “rose colored”?…That could be the reason….

We made a major purchase over the weekend….A Dyson DC-14 Cyclone Vacuum Cleaner..It sucks….It has a clear plastic cover for where the deposited dirt and stuff goes…This thing takes care of business and you can see it working as you go….The build up of the sucked up stuff advises you of progress being made toward a clean house…It does carpets, floors and has the pull out extentions so us short people can reach the ceiling fans and vents, cob webs in the corners and the hard to get to spots in the house….This is my very first vacuum cleaner purchase, my very own….Momma said………………………….Oh, the joys of retirement…
