Number 2 grandson has bought a house….a beautiful house sitting on about 1/2 prime acre….a beautiful view of the Sandia’s. The lot falls away to the back, leaving only the roof top of that neighbor’s house visible from his patio, giving him an excellent view of the mountains…It is going to be a neat place when he finishes with it…He is a plumber and he is doing a complete re-pluming job. Both no. 2 grandson and no. 3 grandson’s are plumbers, and no. 3 is going to live with him, etc and both are working on it…I did not know that plumbers knew so much…they can tear into walls, tear up floors, dig under houses….then put them all back together…correctly and make it look good. They had their dad and their grandpa over today and dared us to keep up with them(we couldn’t)…..Well sir, my old butt is dragging…I can truly say my no. 2 son did an outstanding job raising those boys…What a work ethic they have…I met their boss Sunday and he was bragging on how hard they work….I am truly proud to call them both GRANDSONS…..They make me feel good…and blessed….
Well, I threw my bracket away a few days ago as I had only one team make it to this point. I hate to name them as it is ….the kiss of death….So I am not going to name my team in an effort to keep them alive….I will give you a hint….It ain’t Duke, nor West Virginia, nor Butler nor Tenn or Mich St….That’s all I’m gonna say about that….I have really enjoyed this season, have you?….Man oh man, have we had some good basketball or what?…A few more games left and then, eh, what? .. how can one get interested in baseball….I do like to follow Cody Ross of the Marlins, but other than that?…. Oh, my novel…jeez, my main man is gonna starve to death up in the mountains before I bring him home….He is growing old up there and I sit around on my hands…( last count he was surrounded by the rustler fellows and it was not looking to good for him. He only has a little water left in his canteen for him and his horse and he is depending on me to write him out of this predicament….)….. Ok, ok, I’m coming…Hold on…..
Well, the health bill hasn’t even cooled yet and now our President is being urged to reform the immigration system….Now, just what does that mean?….If we can process more green cards and have legimate immigrants come into our nation, I don’t have a problem with that…But if it means our President is trying to ok all the illegal that are here already and bring in all of their families, then it is not ok….We are broke…We Americans are the poor, the tired and huddled masses….We don’t need any more poor folks or any more people on our already bulging welfare rolls or on our new and improved healthcare system…..Mr. President, give it a rest….take a break…work on our economy for a spell….Other than that, don’t improve anything else for a while, ok?….
Well, I heard from a classmate from, eh, class of a long time ago, yesterday. It is always nice to hear from those classmates. Interesting to hear about their life, what all has happened and bring each other up to date on present activities…Anyway, this fellow was one or two grades in front of me, but he was always very nice and kind of treated me as an equal, not as an under classman, so I thought very highly of him……so it was very good to hear from him and I hope to hear more about his life in the near future….We always, I should say, I always like to share the good things that have happened, not the sad or bad things…I guess that is normal, huh….Anyway, if some more of you graduated from PiCoHi, whatever class, let me hear you ….. pete@hesterbooks.com will work…..
Ok, it has happened…In this mornings paper, the Williams sisters have bought into the Miami Dolphin’s organization, owners if you will. You remember the tennis ball and the bad call from the line judge and where the tennis ball was going to be placed and then me saying that Brian Urlacker had been injured and that Serina could make a good replacement? …You remember that post, huh?… Well, now she has a chance….Linebacker for the Dolphin’s….Visualize this, Romo is calling out the signals….Omaha, sixty-four, hut, hut….Sernia has the tennis ball out, showing it to Romo and shouting across the line of scrimmage just where she is going to stuff that ball….That boy is gonna run, probably a guaranteed loss as he hurries over to the biggest Miami tackle, quickly embracing his tackle so he will not face the fury of the ex-tennis player….I think it will work…..(if this writer turns up in the hospital for tennis ball extractions, you will know what has happened, ok?)
I have got to get back to writing my novel. My main man is out in the middle of the desert chasing a bad guy…he needs some help…he needs some food…But out in the middle of the desert, there is not much out there, oh, well, let me see…now his horse could throw him and drag him for a way….then a beautiful Apache squaw finds him and is nursing him back to health…then her warrior boy friends finds them together and now he is fighting a battle on two fronts….the bad guy finds the warrior and the good guy fighting and if he can get a lucky shot and kill the good guy and blame it on the warrior…. But the rest of the tribe rides up and see all this going on and….well..ok, back to the drawing board ’cause I don’t think that will work out…Anyway, I need to get back to the book get the plot plotted and the bad guy trapped and the good guy remaining the good guy…He will get the girl, but right now I am not sure which girl….Wow, lots of work left to do….I better get started…
Over 2000 motor home will be in Albuquerque this week for the 83rd international convention of the Family Motor Coach Assn’s convention. The plan exhibits, entertainment and displays at Tingley Coliseum and at the Manuel Lujan Exhibit Complex. The public is invited to tour the motorhomes on display, attend siminars and festivities, etc. Residents are asked to avoid the area around Expo New Mexico and Ballon Fiesta Park on Saturday and Sunday between 7am to 5 pm due to caravans of motorhomes….I am glad a few folks can still afford to push these rigs up and down the highways……
From the Albuquerque Journal, March 23, 2010…Virgin Galactic’s new space tourism rocket SpaceshipTwo was taken aloft Monday over the California desert by the mothership WhiteKnightTwo on its first captive carry test flight. It claimed success. It stated that the spacecraft will eventually fly out of the Spaceport America now under construction at Upham, NM….Me talking now…it goes on to say the jet powered mother ship will take the eight passenger SpaceshipTwo to about 52,000 feet, then disconnect from the mothership and the rockets will kick in taking the space craft to outer space for a two and half hour trip…And these tourist will only pay 200,000 for the opportunity of space flight…330 people have already paid the 20,000 deposit and they are expecting about 500 passengers the first year…..I wonder when they will start selling “coach” or “economy” fares…..oh, well….
Crude oil prices were listed at 81.25 a barrel in todays paper….I have been told that one can divide the 81.25 by 42 (gallons in a barrel) then add .45 cents of refining cost to come up with a cost of gas at the rack. Then from the loading rack to the consumer you have to add transportation and service station cost and profits. So if that is correct, the crude today is 1.93 plus refinery cost of .45 = 2.38 per gallon. I believe today’s average Albuquerque price is 2.70 per gallon, so transportation, marketing and profit is .38 cents per gallon…That sounds about right, huh?
Investments: My questions to you my readers is, should one invest in insurance companies today?…..How do the insurance companies feel about the longevity of their companies?….I feel like they will survive and I also feel like their rates will increase….Maybe they are a good investment, huh? Your thoughts??????
Well, looks like President Obama got his wish….Heatlh care for all….Tell me, what price for the glory of winning?….I hope it works out….Without killing us, huh?
This is an update..Sunday PM….forget all I said….New Mexico has gone home..They gave us a good ride..BYU has gone home….They had a good season and were fun to watch…..Wisconsin has gone home also and we all wonder where Cornell came from…Well, it was fun…I will watch the rest of the tourney, but with a lot less interest….Let me see, how long until football season? Well, we have the NFL draft, that will take up some of the time…And the Masters in April, that will help ( all of us wondering about Tiger and all)…Well, I can keep you posted on the yard work I guess…and my late night snacks…speaking of which, no 2 son makes a blueberry cream pie (His Aunt Wanda’s recipe) that is out of this world…Between my wife and no. 2 son its no wonder that I am fa….ove…..heav……filling out so well….
Wow, I am doing terrible….But, the New Mexico Lobo’s are still alive….BYU is still in….Wisconsin is still playing…..New Mexico Aggie’s came alive too late last night, but I was pleased with the second half ..Michigan State is a good team…I think the Lobo’s and Washington match up pretty well, but I like the Lobo’s to take it..BYU can beat K-State, but they have to bring the A team, for sure…Wisconsin and Cornell, I really don’t know much about either one, but I did see a little of both and I have watched Wisconsin a couple of times this year, so I am going with my heart and picking Wisconsin, but it is going to be close…We have really had some great basketball this tourney, huh?….good stuff!!!
This is one of the paintings that I did from a mental picture. I originally wanted to paint a donkey pulling the wagon, however, it dawned on me that I could not paint a donkey, so I have the wagon and driver going away from the painter to fix that small problem. We have a lot of the pink and orange colored soil, especially up toward Farmington/Bloomfield on Highway 550. I like that drive and I always enjoyed driving up that way. The time of day and brightness of the sunshine always changes the colors. So, here is another of my earlier paintings…Going Home..
