Wonderful story, I don’t think I’ve heard anything like this before and I have read a lot of history on Alabama football.

You are right, this is a great story and I appreciate Otis sharing it with us…Thanks again, Otis…

This was a great victory for Alabama, and really did provide the national recognition they needed to recruit well and become and remain a national power. For many years, the Birmingham sports writers would write about this game so it lived a life of its own. In my mind’s eye, I can still see Bull Wesley watching TV, and I can hear that distinctive voice. I can also see him making that field goal.

I hope fans of both Alabama and Penn read this story…I am glad we published it here Otis…Thanks
