No. 2 grand daughter is having a birthday today. She is, er, uh, well, she is old enough to do as she pleases…And it pleased her to come by and see grandma and grandpa this morning. She calls us Nan and Paps. Of course it was good to see her and catch up on all the goings on in her life. You folks in Alabama will know her as she traveled to a reunion there with me a few years ago, a trip that she still talks about and loves. She really fell in love with all my Alabama cousins and kin and I believe it was a two way love affair. She is working out, looking good and is having a wonderful day. Aren’t grandkids nice? Mine are kind’a getting old,….. oh, no, no, no,… no.2 I didn’t mean you……..

Psychology 101

Posted by Pete | Posted in News | Posted on 14-03-2014

Excuse the crazy print….but good story line….
Psychology 101               –
If you               start with a cage containing five monkeys and inside the cage,               hang a banana on a string from the top and then you place a set of               stairs under the banana, before long a               monkey will go to the stairs and climb toward the               banana. As soon as he               touches the stairs, you spray all the other monkeys with cold               water. After a while               another monkey makes an attempt with same result …. all the               other monkeys are               sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon when another monkey tries               to climb               the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent               it. Now, put the               cold water away.
Remove one monkey from the cage and               replace it with a new one. The new               monkey sees the banana and attempts to climb the               stairs. To his shock,               all of the other monkeys beat the crap out of               him. After another               attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries               to climb the stairs he will be assaulted. Next, remove               another of the original five monkeys,               replacing it with a new one. The newcomer goes to the stairs and               is attacked. The previous newcomer takes               part in the punishment…… with               enthusiasm, because he is               now part of the “team”.Then, replace a third original               monkey with a new one, followed by the fourth, then               the fifth.
Every time the newest monkey takes to               the stairs, he is attacked. Now, the               monkeys that are beating him up have no idea why they were not               permitted to climb the stairs. Neither do they know why they are               participating in the beating of the newest               monkey. Finally, having replaced all of               the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys will have ever               been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless,               not one of the monkeys will try to climb the stairway for the               banana. Why, you ask?               Because in their minds…that is the way it has always               been!
This, my friends, is how Congress               operates… and this is why, from time to time: ALL of the monkeys need to be REPLACED               AT THE SAME               TIME.

$250,000 Treasure/Forrest Fenn

Posted by Pete | Posted in News | Posted on 13-03-2014

Well, to kick off my return to the web site, I e-mailed Mr. Forrest Fenn at the Old Santa Fe Trading Company and asked if the treasure had been found or if there was any additional information at this time. I heard from him this morning stating that the treasure was still out there, all 250,000 dollars of it. So, folks, if you are considering a vacation this year and have not yet selected a destination, consider New Mexico….Now, Mr. Fenn, did not say it was in New Mexico, but I believe I know New Mexicans and I don’t think he would bury it any place else. Some clues, you will recall are: North of Santa Fe….Above 5000 feet (and that is most of Northern New Mexico), not in a graveyard and he said it was not necessarily buried…well, I made several post on his treasure so you can keep turning pages to read about them. You know, you could go by Old Santa Fe Trading Company and visit with the man himself, wouldn’t that be neat. I doubt he would give you any additional clues on purpose, but he could slip and let one out….Well, probably not, but you would love the visit with him, I’m sure and love seeing Santa Fe. It is a national treasure itself…Pete Hester

Ok, it has been two or three weeks and I am missing my web site, I’m not as tired as I thought. I have been posting on Facebook and reading all the Facebook friends posts and it just was not getting the job done in terms of amount of writing done per day. So, here I am, ready to go again. I might even come up with some good posts, hopefully soon. That would be a change, huh?…. Just in time for basketball season’s March Madness. I may need you folks to help me fill out my brackets. Stand by for that, ok?…Well, I will be writing more later….Pete

We are a Christian Nation…

Thanks, Bill from Lubbock, you keep coming up with great e-mail info and how right it is…..Pete

Subject: We are a Christian Nation – read and pass along
This is short and  to the point.  Please read and pass along.
Charity Hospital run by  the Sisters of Charity in New Orleans, along with the Upjohn company developed  the plasma system in the 1930’s that saved so many lives in WWII, Korea,  Vietnam and in the middle east now.
During the Civil War  most of the nurses were nuns.
When the Catholic Church  was founded, there were no hospitals. Today, one out of five people in this  country receive their medical care at a Catholic hospital.
When the Catholic Church  was founded, there were no schools. Today, the Catholic Church teaches 3 million  students a day, in its more than 250 Catholic Colleges and Universities, in its  more than 1200 Catholic High Schools and its more than 5000 Catholic grade  schools.
Every day, the Catholic  Church feeds, clothes, shelters and educates more people than any other  organization in the world.
The new Obama Health  Mandate could end all this and the tax payers would have to make up the loss.
Also, all Catholic  adoption services would come to an end; a human disaster.
There are more  than   77 million Catholics in this country . It takes  an   estimated 50 million Catholic votes to elect a president  .
I am asking all of you  to go to the polls in 2014 and be united in replacing all Senators and Reps with  someone who will respect the Catholic Church, all Christians, and all Religions  with perhaps the exception of Islam.
Mr. President, you said,  “The USA is not a Christian Nation”. You are wrong – we are a Christian Nation  founded on Judeo-Christian values allowing all religions in America to Worship & Practice Freely. Something Islam will never do.
Oh, by the way, on  MUSLIM HERITAGE IN America …
Have you ever been to a  Muslim hospital,
heard a Muslim  orchestra,
seen a Muslim band march  in a parade,
know of a Muslim  charity,
ever seen Muslims  shaking hands with a Muslim Girl Scout,
or ever seen a Muslim  Candy Striper volunteering in a hospital?
Have you ever seen a  Muslim do much of anything that contributes positively to the American way of  life?
DON’T KEEP THIS –  please SEND IT OUT TO YOUR LIST!  Let’s circulate this to as many as  possible.  And remember the elections coming up in 2014 and 2016!

Super Bowl….Denver 2nd place….The Manning’s, winners

Posted by Pete | Posted in News | Posted on 03-02-2014

Well, I could write about Seattle being in first place, after all they won. But, I am not a Denver fan nor a Seattle fan, but I am a real fan of the Manning family, class people and all of them winners…Payton had a good year, just a bad game yesterday. That’s how it works, you win some and lose some. Collectively, Denver looked bad….Collectively, Seattle looked great. I know the Denver Broncos feel very badly today, but guys, there were 30 teams sitting home watching you play, envious of you being there, remember that…Pete

UNM Lady Lobo’s Basketball…Woes this year

Posted by Pete | Posted in News | Posted on 31-01-2014

Basketball is big in Albuquerque, and the Lobo’s are the thing around here, especially Lobo basketball….both men’s and women’s…Our men have sell outs most games, 15,000 plus per game attending….And, get this, our women have had attendance higher than a host of men’s programs….Our men are having a great year, 16 – 4, but not so for the Lady Lobo’s.This year our attendance is down, the natives are restless and the coach is under the gun about winning. At the time of this writing the record for the year is 7 – 10. Several of the Lobo’s big players are out for the season, which is not helping things at all. But, you know what, in spite of the dismal record this year the last home game over 6000 fans showed up. That number put me to thinking about how the Lady Lobo attendance stacks up against some of the men’s basketball programs. Using the average attendance number for the 2011 season our Lady Lobo’s averaged 6763. Going to some of the men’s programs and checking their average attendance, I think those are 2012 men’s numbers, they beat Mississippi, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Gonzaga, Colorado State, UMass and many, many other big time men’s program in attendance. So, winning is important and the numbers are down, but the UNM Lady Lobo fans still back the program. Do you know a girl basketball player that is looking for a place to be appreciated. Do her a favor and have her look into the University of New Mexico Lady Lobo program. Win or lose, she will be watched, cheered and admired in The Pit. Hey, and most of the time, it is a winning program. We have had a couple of injury plagued   down years, but the Lady Lobo will be back on the winning track soon…and will continue to have a host of Lady Lobo fans.

Here is how gun laws work…..

Posted by Pete | Posted in News | Posted on 29-01-2014

This is from a forward to me from Bill in Lubbock….Good work, Bill and thanks for sharing this important e-mail with us….
Truth About Australian Gun Laws
Here’s  a thought to warm some of your hearts…. From:  Ed Chenel, A police officer in Australia:

Hi  Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the

real  figures from Down Under.

It  has now been 12 months since gun owners in

Australia  were forced by a new law to Surrender

640,381  personal firearms to be destroyed by our

own  Government, a program costing Australia

taxpayers  More than $500 million dollars.

The  first year results are now in: Australia-wide,

homicides  are up 6.2 percent, Australia-wide,

assaults  are up 9.6 percent; Australia-wide, armed

robberies  are up 44 percent (yes, 44 Percent)!

In  the state of Victoria Alone, homicides with firearms

are  now up 300 percent. (Note that While the

law-abiding  citizens turned them in, the criminals

did  not And criminals still possess their guns!)

While  figures over the previous 25 years showed

a  steady Decrease in armed robbery with firearms,

this  has changed drastically Upward in the past 12

months,  since the criminals now are guaranteed

That  their prey is unarmed.

There  has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins

and  Assaults of the elderly, while the resident is at home.

Australian  politicians are at a loss to explain how public

Safety  has decreased, after such monumental effort

and  expense was Expended in ‘successfully ridding

Australian  society of guns….’ You Won’t see this on

the  American evening news or hear your governor

or  Members of the State Assembly disseminating

this  information.

The  Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns

in  the Hands of honest citizens save lives and property

and,  yes, gun-control Laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take  note Americans, before it’s too late! Will you be one

of  the sheeple to turn yours in? WHY? You will need it.

NONSENSE         Peace To You
