Indian Casinos..Navajo 5?..Ft. Sill Apache 0?….

Posted by Pete | Posted in News | Posted on 22-01-2014

Geronimo, the most bad ass Indian who ever walked the face of the earth, whose ancestors cannot get a casino in their home territory but the Navajos are going to be allowed to have five……Come on Governor, you turned them down for a casino. Now the Navajo get five?  Ft. Sill Apaches are not New Mexico natives?….You know the history of the  Chiricahuas and the Warm Spring Apaches better than that. Southwestern New Mexico and Southeastern Arizona were the home land of these tribes. They belong here….After 27 years as prisoners of war of the United States, after being removed from their home territory, they became the Ft. Sill Apache…You know all that….You know some came back to be with the Mescalero and others stayed at Ft. Sill…You know that the Warm Spring Apache Tribe has an abandoned reservation  in Sierra County, New Mexico at the southern end of the Cibola National Forest at Ojo Caliente, the spring that gave the name to Chief Victorio’s  Warm Spring Band. You know the remnants of the Warm Spring Tribe joined the Chiricahuas after the massacre of Chief Victorio’s tribe in 1880….Can you give the Navajo’s five casinos in New Mexico and in clear conscience,  not even give one to the Ft. Sill Tribe? That does not make sense to me nor does it make sense to anyone…Why would you do that?…From “Geronimo, His Own Story” by Geronimo as told to S. M. Barrett, A Meridian Book, I take the following quote….”When we made the treaty   General Miles said to me, “My brother, you have in your mind how you are going to kill men, and other thoughts of war; I want you to put that out of you mind, and change your thoughts to peace.” ..Then I agreed and gave up my arms. I said, “I will quit the warpath and live at peace hereafter.”…Then General Miles swept a spot of ground clear with his hand and said: “Your past deeds  shall be wiped out like this and you will start a new life.”………end of quote…..I do not think this is what Geronimo envisioned when the ground was wiped clean….He is still paying….Pete Hester

To somewhat clarify this posting, Richard Sherman continues to vent, I suppose that is what you would call it, and in general, turn people off from pulling for a very good Seattle team….

Seattle stadium…..137.5 decibel’s

Sherman….160 decibel’s

President Obama is disappointed that his ratings are falling and so I made the following post:

President Obama says his approval rating is falling because he is black??? He won two presidential elections and no one noticed that he is black?…..Come on, Mr. President, we can tell….

Where is the media on this?

I am very happy with the results of the web site in 2013, the best year so far. Thanks to you folks for coming by and reading the stories and posts. Remember to hit the down loads to view the stories available for reading. In 2013 we had 116,478 visitors, reading 420,776 pages with 577,968 hits. Small in comparison to some web site, but huge for me and I thank you so much. My posting on my sister, Virginia Hester Hall was a favorite with me and it seemed to have been a favorite with lots of you, based on the comments. I hope you will continue coming by in 2014…..I will be posting often, but probably not daily….Can this old soul be running out of stories? Maybe….Naw, I think just lazy….There are more in there, just got to jog the old memory….Trouble is, some days I jig when I should jog when it comes to memory….You have that trouble?…Well, just wait, it’ll hit ya….Pete

Roswell, NM Middle School Shooting

Posted by Pete | Posted in News | Posted on 15-01-2014

I suppose most  of you heard of the shooting at a Roswell Middle School yesterday? If not, you can read all the details in today’s, Jan.15, 2014 Albuquerque Journal. Anyway, a 12 year old boy shot a 11 year old boy and a 13 year old girl with a 20 gauge shot gun. Both are in the hospital in Lubbock, one critical and one serious… Very sad for the community of Roswell and our prayers go out to the victims and their families. They did have a hero there…A school teacher, Mr. John Masterson, asked the young man to put the weapon down, which the young man did obey and lay the gun down. Now, that takes some doings, to stand before a shooter and ask him to lay a weapon down not knowing if the young person is totally out of his mind or not…..Mr. Masterson, thank you, sir, for your courageous actions. I hope the people of Roswell realize just what you did and will recognize you for your valor and quick actions…. The Roswell mayor and the Governor  of New Mexico has asked for prayers for all those involved in this incident, students, parents and teachers…And say a prayer of thanks for people like Mr. Masterson….Pete

Obamacare cares….

This e-mail from a friend in Florida….eye opening, huh….
 Subject: : PICTURE WORTH $678 MILLION..

Hillary would probably say “What difference does it make?”

PICTURE WORTH $678 MILLION (Picture showing the Obama’s and Townes-Whitley would not transfer)
 Michelle Obama’s Princeton classmate is a top executive at the company that earned the no-bid contract to build the disastrous Obamacare website.
Toni Townes-Whitley, Princeton class of ’85, is senior vice president at Canadian company CGI Federal, which earned the no-bid contract to build the so far costing $678 million Obamacare enrollment website at Healthcare.gov.
Townes-Whitley and his Princeton classmate Michelle Obama are both members of the Association of Black Princeton Alumni.
Toni Townes, Pricenton ’85, is a onetime policy analyst with the General Accounting Office and previously served in the Peace Corps in Gabon , West Africa .
George Schindler, the president of the CGI Federal’s Canadian parent CGI Group, became an Obama 2012 campaign donor after his company gained the Obamacare website contract.
________________________________________________
Soooooo………..
Let’s see if we can connect the dots here …
1.) No American companies considered for building Obamacare’s website;
2.) CGI Federal was chosen by God knows which criteria and hired;
3.) CGI Federal was given a NO BID contract worth $93 million;
4.) A top executive at CGI Federal was a Princeton classmate of Michelle Obama;
5.) Previous company’s experience was building a gun registry for the Canadian government;
6.) CGI Group was fired by Canadian Government for overruns that cost Canada $100 million;
4.) CGI has continued its practice of overruns as the Obamacare enrollment website has gone from $98 million to costing U.S. tax payers $678 million, and it’s still going up.
Does this bother anybody else besides me.

Seatle Seahawks 12th Man…..

I never knew that assembled people could create an earthquake. Did you? When Drew Brees fumble was returned for a touchdown Sunday, the stadium crowd created a 1 to 2 magnitude quake on sensors set up around the stadium. Several times during the games exciting moments resulted in similar resisters on the sensors. That is amazing, huh? Also, the noise level reached 137.5 decibels inside the open air stadium. Can you imagine that? These folks seem to be dedicated to Seahawks football. Either that or they have very good beer at the stadium….or both….Nah, they are not drunks, just good fans. Makes it hard to call plays. The opposition should just hold up cards with the play and snap count in code, including changing the play at the line. That would help….maybe….Pete

Kiss Blowing Incident…..New Mexico – Wyoming Game

Posted by Pete | Posted in News | Posted on 10-01-2014

Looking back over the last few years of following University of New Mexico sports programs, there have been incidents of students getting drunk, fighting, driving while intoxicated and numerous other incidents. At the Wyoming – Lobo basketball game the other night, with 1:31 left in the very close game, the coaches son had just thrown his first of two free throws, making it and increasing the Lobo’s slim lead, he blew the Wyoming student section a kiss….He was called for a technical foul and Wyoming got two free throws before he could complete his second free throw. Well, it was immature and somewhat silly, but he also did that during his high school career and it evidently satisfied something within him to do that then, so he did it the other night. He apologized for the incident…..Many letters to the editor of the Albuquerque Journal are coming in deploring his actions……Come on folks, he is a freshman in college and he was not drunk, high on drugs or robbing or stealing….He blew a kiss to the Wyoming student section for Christ sake….Ease up, move on and let the kid grow up…..He will…He is going to be a great basketball player for the Lobo’s…Sit back and watch him grow…Go Lobo’s….Pete Hester

Hot/cold Basketball…High Goal Basketball and other stuff

Posted by Pete | Posted in News | Posted on 09-01-2014

Hot and cold basketball is playing out in Madison, WI….Extremely cold weather for anything, but Bo Ryan’s basketball team is hot in Kohl Center. They went to 16 – 0 last night after beating a good Illinois team, 95 – 70. The Illini is now 13 – 3. The Big Ten appears to be the basketball conference this year. The Badgers are now about 38 straight in Kohl Center. Number 3 son and his sweetie are season ticket holders up there. I know they are enjoying the “hot” season during the cold season, huh, son?….

High goals…..The University of New Mexico Lobos played the Wyoming Cowboys last night in Laramie, Wyoming beating the Cowboys 72 – 69 in overtime. During halftime one of the Lobo team members saw someone messing with the goals.  The Lobo 7 foot center noticed when he took the floor that the goal had grown some during the half time festivals. Sure enough, the goal at the Lobo end of the arena had grown to 10’3″. Amazing…..Does that happen often? Well, it was a conference game!!!!!

Arizona Basketball…. The Wildcats are number one in the nation right now and playing ex-Lobo coach Steve Alford tonight at UCLA….Should be a very good game…I am pulling for the Wildcats ’cause no. 1 granddaughter and no. 1 son in law are season ticket holders to the Arizona games and are big time Arizona fans. I imagine their home will be rocking tonight watching the game on TV. I’m here to tell you, some of those games get pretty wild in a living room or two around Tucson. Hope no injuries are suffered tonight (Now that’s a joke, kind’a…)

ESPN3.com…..What a worthless place to have a basketball game around my house. The Lobo – Wyoming game was moved from ESPN to this ESPN3.com. I have the computer needed in order to view that broadcast ( that is if you can call it a broadcast) however, you cannot be on Century Links and Direct TV and get it. So, I listened to the game on the radio. I miss our local station broadcasting the games anyway…..Go away, ESPN, if you can’t do any better than that. So much of the Mountain West is small market TV that we will never be able to do much on ESPN or any other major network…..More later, Pete
