Rain Dance

Many years ago the western tribes taught us gringo’s to rain dance. So, every year we get after it and most of the time we do this dance during the mon-soon season. Sometimes it is effective…sometimes not so much…The good part about a rain dance is you get tired and rest or quit….and it stops raining….well, if some of you are still dancing you can go ahead and rest, ok?…it is flooding in places and it is dreary around here being shut in for two days now and my grass needs mowing and the mushrooms are sprouting…and I can’t water my garden, oh, wait, that’s a good thing…well, you see what I am getting at…It is time to stop the dance for now…maybe more a little later…if this keeps up we will have a host of mosquitoes flying around, and bugs galore….stop the dancing people….its always something!

Where is the origination of this blog? It can’t be from New Mexico, at least it is not from the New Mexico that I remember. It speaks of mosquitoes, mushrooms, and bugs galore. This sounds more like Alabama, even Arkansas, or Louisiana. Al Gore’s global warming world has turned upside down. If you need it, I will send you a can of my Bengal. It will zap those bugs.
They only show up when it gets wet…It’s now wet….Next month, another story…I will be looking for the rain dancers again….we normally do not have any bugs, or at least very few bugs…moisture does tend to bring them in….
Obviously you live down in the Valley, possibly near the river. If you lived up on the East Mesa or West Mesa, I doubt if you would have much of a problem with bugs. The only bugs I remember arouns Kirtland were roadrunners. They traveled so fast they were difficult to see. We did have a few flies in our sheep pens at the Goat Farm, but not like the barnyards of Alabama. Now that it is a riding stable, I wonder if they now have a problem with flies.
