Listen folks, I have messed with Bill most of his administration…Sometimes jokingly, sometimes not….we have to give the man his due…He has been called on to negotiate in many situations…He is in Cuba pushing them to free Alan Gross, a U. S. government subcontractor jailed there for about nine months. He traveled to Cuba as part of a mission to strengthen trade and cultural partnerships between New Mexico and Cuba. I don’t know if he will be successful or not, but you have to hand it to the man, he does a good job in that area. He has been involved with negotiations in several instances to get people released from foreign governments…from Korea a while back comes to mind…He is always willing to try and I applaud him for his efforts…Way to go, Governor…I am sure Mr. Gross and his family appreciate it very much.  Pete Hester

All hail to Governor Bill! But I always wonder what we all must pay to pull off another one of Governor Bill’s charades. I am sure that Mr. Castro and his entourage will not releash any U. S. Government contractor for free. It is not that this one is not worth it. Perhaps he is. One has to wonder what he was doing there in the first place; just as one had to wonder what those American stragglers were doing in North Korea. It seems to me that if anyone is determined to make unauthorized trips into areas of known danger, they should be men enough to take the consequences of their actions. More power to Bill! At least, he sometimes does good in small things.

I really don’t know the man’s job, but Cuba felt he was a CIA agent or some such. Just join me in patting Bill on the back this time…Ok, it won’t hurt either of us just this once…
