This time of year is kind of sad for me….Yeah, I know, for all Americans…Mom died September 10, 2001 and the wife and I were trying to fly back to Alabama….We ended up driving and making it just in time for the viewing….So I had a double event that further saddened me and my family .Please remember all those who lost family and freinds during this time….May God continue to Bless America and keep us out of harms way…

I had forgotten that Aunt Otera died the day before 9/11. The catastrophic events of 9/11 seems to have completely obliterated the event of 9/10, at least in my mind. I have noted that the Memorial and the first phase of the new Freedom Center on the World Trade Center site is scheduled to open on 9/11/11. Who would have thought that it would take 10 years to replace what 18 Islamoterrorists knocked down in a few minutes?
I never got a chance to see the first World Trade Center Towers (except from across the river in New Jersey). My wife and I will make it a point to see this new one as soon as possible after it is completed. It will be great to stand on top of the new Freedom Center and think about the 18 Islamoterrorists buried somewhere deep underneath and muse about who the victor is now; but, at the same time, I will think about Aunt Otera who is in Heaven looking down and sharing the victory moment.
Thank you for remembering Mom….Pete
