America…. We Better Watch…..

My fellow Americans, I think we are on the brink of a major disaster…..The Democrats do not want to make spending cuts and the Republicans do not want to make any tax increases…..You guys are just going to have to have a little give and take I think. When Bush gave the tax break to the rich and powerful a few years ago, it was a temporary thing as I recall. We have all seen the net profits of the oil companies and other major corporation, and we need them to be profitable and make money, but they are going to have to belly up to some increases, times demand it. We have seen the federal government spending, fighting wars and more pork barrels, and help us poor folk but we are also going to have to belly up and get use to some skimpy times. You see what is happening in Greece. That could be us in a few month time. CBS News reported tonight that 40% of all Americans think America is on the decline. And we are…..But listen, if both political parties and you and me all agree that we are facing some hard times and reckon we are going to have to take a hard line and do something about it, we can pull it out….In other words, do something Americans have trouble doing, pulling together. There is some middle ground we can take and save America, some give and take…..I don’t see that happening…Neither side wants to give….But if you don’t I shudder to think what will be happening next year…..We have had a pretty steady climb from 1776 to 2011, things have been good for the most part…a few bad years….and best case for us would be a few more “few bad years” and not a downfall of a nation. Gloom and Doom…..It does not have to be…..But some of us have to do some thinking, some giving and yes, some praying but we have asked God to leave our schools, our government, even some of our businesses, so can we get Him back?…..I think we can…. 2nd Chronicles 7:14 “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land”….Amen?….Yes, Amen! Think about that America……
I suggest that you select a different news outlet to CBS News where you can get the truth. If America is on the decline, it is only on the decline because of appearance, mental attitude, and the slowness to accept change. America is going through significant change now, and it is not the change that President Obama talked about in his election campaign although he is a part of that change. It is the most profound change this country has experienced since the Revolution against Great Britain in 1776. It is the change that was begun by the passage of the Environmental Protection Act of 1970 (and other environmental and worker safety laws). As the EPA and OSHA got its feet on the ground and began to enforce its mandate in the Eighties, private sector industry all across this land began to scramble to comply, but it soon found that it could not without affecting its bottom line. Therefore, manufacturing plants and processes that could not comply began to shutdown, the more efficient ones were outsourced to foreign countries with fewer environmental and safety regulations, while a few that could be made to comply stayed. As time went on, entire industries have moved out of the country, including capital by the trillions. As a result, we have lost much of our tax base that was developed following WWII at a time when an increasing aging population is demanded more and more entitlements, which the current tax base just cannot pay. Although Obama has missed the boat to a great extent; and he really does not understand what is happening; he is right about the change. Although the historical, dirty industrial base of our recent past will continue to be outsourced to foreign countries with less strict regulations, we will (and must) slowly develop an environmentally cleaner industrial base that will renew the tax base that we had in the years following WWII. In the meantime, there will be cuts. There will be many people who will have to “bite the bullet”, but this is what real change is all about. It will happen. The USA will survive. We don’t need the dirty Pittsburgh and Birmingham steel industries of old, nor the polluting chemical industries that once filled our Gulf shores from Alabama to Texas, nor the big car industries for which Detroit is famous. We need smaller, cleaner, more efficient industries that will comply with the new environmental and safety regulations and that will protect the environment for ourselves and for our posterity. It will happen. It is happening. Real change is coming. CBS News reporting that America is on the decline is a bunch of bull, and they know it. They report it only either because it fits into their agenda of the socialization and communization of America; or they, like the Obama Administration, simply do not understand what real change is all about.
The decline is real. You can dream with the politician but we have to do some things to stop the decline. We can blame and point fingers but it is happening. Let hope we can slow it down.
Sorry! I disagree! There is no decline. The United States of America is still the greatest nation with the best government ever devised by man. The adaption to environmental change will cause some bumps in the road, but progress will continue with or without the liberal agenda of the Obama Administration as well as CBS News.
I never said it was not the greatest nation on earth, presently and maybe for ten more years. We cannot substain the debt we are ringing up and we cannot continue to get credit. When you pay out more than you take in you are broke. What I said was we are in decline and me and 40% of the American people don’t think we can turn it around.But the problem is not CBS News, nor NBC, nor FOX. No need to kill the messenger here. Reporters report when history happens….And everyday it gets scarier and scarier….I may need you to ship me a pair of your rose colored glasses….

The resolution of the debt, the need for continuing credit, and the reestablishment of an environmentally sound industrial tax base are the bumps in the road that I am talking about. It is happening. As the 20th century was a century of unprecedented industrial growth for the country providing unprecedented wealth and comfort for the American people, the 21st century will be a century of unprecedented change, adaptation, and innovation that will make our democracy work
under unprecedented conditions while strapped for natural resources and fuel supplies, yet with an expanding population. You and I may not live to see it, but we are now in the beginning of the change that will bring it all to pass.
You are the one with rose colored glasses if you think that CBS News reporters are reporting history as it happens. More often than not, they report with an agenda; that is, they report to make history happen to suit their agenda.
I am smart enough to know whats going on regardless of who reports it. I also read the newspaper….and the internet…and listen to friends, both parties…America is in bad shape and if you think otherwise, you do have problems….
I guess it is difficult to teach an old dog new tricks, but don’t underestimate the capacity of the American people to overcome adversity. Our population is continually being renewed day in and day out with the best and the brightest of people of all races from all over the world all of whom have an American dream of their own which are just as vivid and real as any dreams of the Greatest Generation from the last century. America may change from a nation primarily of Anglos speaking English to only God knows what, but it will be as vibrant a nation which loves freedom and personal liberty as ever.
Well, it is difficult to teach an old dog new tricks but its not me that is talking about the American people. I am talking about the Congress of the UNited States, the governing body and what they are not doing. No one wants the USA to successful more that I. That is why I am trying to sound the Alarm. But according to you, maybe we don’t even need the alarm. Everything gonna be ok so just sit on your bottoms and let what happens, happen. I sure hope you are right. Anyway, thanks for writing…
