The time is near for the Coal Fire Reunion of the Bonner, McCool, Hester, Bishop, Hall families, well, and maybe a few others, at the Coal Fire Baptist Church on July 16th. No. 2 grand daughter is coming with me this time. We will be flying into Birmingham and driving over, staying in Tuscaloosa. KJH is really looking forward to meeting all the cousins and seeing the old home place and visiting all the sites of Pickens County. I am excited about showing her around. Both of her brothers and her dad have been there and are always talking about it….So now she will get to experience it and meet all of you. So folks, get ready for a great time together. Mexican food was requested, however it does not travel well, but I may come by the Taco Bell and pick up some tacos….Taco Bell tacos are very good, even out here in Mexican country…Did the Taco Bell survive the tornado?…Well, we will bring something besides a hardy appetite….Looking forward to seeing all of you there….If you are kin folk, come on over. You know Coal Fire Baptist Church is in downtown Coal Fire, huh?….. You can’t miss it, right on Coal Fire Circle…….Pete

Very much looking forward to meeting cousins, family and friends while on our trip. I have heard that it’s going to be a different kind of hot than I have ever experienced, that the food is amazing, and chances are good that I’ll wind up with all kinds of bug bites. This does not deter me; spending time with my family (and especially my Pappy) is something I look forward to. I can’t wait for him to show me around- be warned I may encourage some kind of shenanigans while away from Nuevo Mexico.
If Marina can find someone to switch shifts for her on Sunday, the 17th, we will see you there. We plan to drive to Columbus from Little Rock early Saturday morning. We should get there about eating time, which is always the best time. What’s a reunion without food?
I hope all our folks are excited about the reunion…And I think that they are….
KJH looking forward to meeting you and getting to know another of my New Mexico cousins.Your Pappy is one of my favorite Uncle’s and I’m looking forward to seeing him, seems like it has been a couple years. Now it is going to be hot and very humid, but that is just Alabama in the summer time.
We’ll try to my up for that with our southern hospitality.
KJH is a regular reader, but if she misses this I will pass it on. Thanks for the comment and the favorite uncle bit…..
I can’t wait to see Karrah again haven’t seen her since 1996. It is great she is coming to Alabama. It will be wonderful to see you too, Uncle Pete! Your the only uncle I have left on this earth I would like to see you regularly. I am not sure about the reunion – what time do you all arrive at the church? Is lunch usually at 12:00? Do the reunion families bring whatever they want to eat (like all day singing/homecoming) or do they have a menu?
Elisa, we are looking forward to seeing you and your family also. I think the reunion will start around 9am or so. I think each person or family brings something for a pot luck meal. We will probably bring soft drinks and break or something on that order. KJH is excited about seeing all of you guys also. You are a cousin and this is a cousin reunion, so see you there…Pete
My partner and I stumbled over here by a different web page and
thought I may as well check things out. I like what I see so now i’m following you.
Look forward to exploring your web page for
a second time.
I think all our people are enthusiastic about the meeting and I hope.
