Increasing National Debt

We are having quite the turmoil over the increasing national debt, as we should, but what surprises me is the finger pointing at Obama. Bush raised the national debt about 20% during his last term of office. It was ok then for the Republicans, huh? Not now….We got a democrat in there and we just cannot let that happen. …..I am a conservative….I try to pay for what I buy. I want our government to pay for what we buy. Republicans helped get us into this mess and they damn sure need to try to help get us out of it….Destroying our country is not the way to do it. We will have to compromise and if they don’t do some giving I believe it will be on their shoulders and not Obama’s. I know that’s not what my fellow conservatives want to hear, but I believe it is the truth and a necessary part of our government continuing to function. You cannot shut the government down nor ruin our ability to borrow….Not now, not at the eleventh hour….Spending does need to be checked but it also needed to be checked under Bush. Lets not cut off our nose to spite our face….We have to borrow to make it, simple as that….We will really be goners if we can’t borrow….Pete

Count me with Michelle Bachmann, the speaker, and the Republicans. If we don’t stop it now, it will never stop, and the nation will be headed for oblivion. Obama is the one with over 100 czars with 6-figure salaries. There is no depression at the White House. Remember! Bush was fighting a war of survival. 9-11 did initiate a war of survival. Obama, who can’t even get a budget through the Congress, much less raise the debt ceiling, is merely winding down two wars in the name of retreat and defeat.
Yeah, it’s always something and someone else’s fault. Our government need to keep functioning. And the right is just as guilty as the left…..
Maybe so! But I am on the right, and I am not guilty. If everyone on the right is as innocent of the problem as I am, then your statement can’t be true. Liberals are the ones who spend needlessly for their own self improvement. Conservatives spend very conservatively only for needed causes, for example wars or survival and national defense. Liberals are the ones who spend wantonly simply to inflate the economy and to create jobs. Conservatives create jobs by the wise investment of capital.
Yes sir you certainly are on the right, but I stand firmly as stated….Our home folks need more attention than some of the folks that we are now aiding. Ask them sometimes….
The national deficit has made the US the joke for the rest of the world. We collect plenty in taxes, there is no reason for us not to have enough bucks to pay our bills. Here is a great rule of thumb to live by. If you don’t have the money, don’t spend the money. There is no reason that our youth should be inheriting the poor choices of our congress. Figure out a deal and let’s get back on the right track!
Eye Floater, I agree, but I think that the conservatives need to give to keep the government going. I am of the opinion that our country’s obligation is to its own before fighting wars in countries that don’t give a crap about us, hate us, kill its own and would love to see us fall.
