Viva Mexico and Mexican Flags in America

Yesterday CBS News was showing a protest out in California, in part protesting the treatment of illegals in this country. One man was in a close up on CBS, wearing a shawl (or something) with the words, in very large letters, VIVA MEXICO….In the background, there were several people carrying Mexican flags. I wonder why so many of them continue to sneak across the border into the United States if Mexico is so great? They can cry and whine about the treatment they receive in the USA all they want but the illegals are lawbreakers and no sympathy should be extended them. Come in the front door, earn a citizenship and learn about America and what it means to be an American…Then and only then, can you put down your Mexican flags and honor your new country. You are a thief when you come in, take welfare, health-care and other benefits when you are not entitled to them and you wonder why American are so unappreciative of your country. You don’t give us a very good opinion of it based on you and your actions. Listen folks, I have said before and will say again. Your people are hard working, fun loving and gracious people, but please when you immigrate to the United States, please do it the right way and get your visa or green card or what ever is required to enter the United States. We do need you here, legally……

Amen! I agree with everything you have written except the last incomplete sentence. We don’t need them here. Americans need to re-learn how to grow and harvest their own agricultural produce. Americans need the benefit of knowing how to put their own seed in the ground and watch it grow up to produce a bountiful harvest and then not be too lazy to harvest it. Mexico needs to join the rest of the world and supply only legal immigrants in needed professions and job skills to those countries that need them, including America.
I was reading about the farmer in Alabama or Georgia the other day who said that the Americans would not take the farm jobs and if they did take a job they would not last until the job was completed. Now, the sentence is imcomplete, but true. The American farmer needs the Mexican workers, like it or not..
Maybe so! Farmers in the South following “The War of Northern Aggression” (Civil War) needed laborers too after slavery was abolished, but they adapted through innovation and invention creating farming techniques and machinery that made slavery unessential to farming. Slavery was already becoming unproductive and uneconomical long before that war. With innovation and invention, modern agriculture can do it again. We simply do not need the new brand of 21st century illegal slaves from South of the Border (or from anywhere else). That old farmer from Alabama, Georgia, or whereever simply needs to innovate and invent new techniques and machinery that will do the job more effectively and economically than the new brand of illegal slaves from South of the Border.
