Albuquerque Hole…..

That’s right, that’s what KRQE weatherman called it.  The canyon winds out of the east whipping through the canyon coming into Albuquerque is keeping the snow out of Albuquerque. Radar shows the weather all around Albuquerque but the city proper, no cloud cover, no snow, no rain, blows it all around us. Out here on the west mesa we have a little better chance than Albuqauerque proper to get some snow, but not much. That is strange, huh? It”s ok, just strange. I’ll just leave the old snow shovel hanging in the garage. Back to that east wind for a second, wow, the chill factor is “way on down yonder”. (Excuse me for a second.)…. Thank you Lord, for this good warm house and a good supply of natural gas and electricity and enough money to pay for those items….Now, where was I…Oh, yeah, it is supposed to be bad tomorrow also and the KRQE weatherman says that tomorrow the Albuquerque Hole may go away, soooo, then I’ll bring out the snow shovel…..That’s the way the flakes fall I guess…..

So now they are blaming it on the “Hole”. Once they blamed it on Global Warming: burning fossel fuels and over-industrialization. Never once did they blame it on over-population and the extensive cutting of the rainforest around the Pacific Basin, namely in Brazil. It all must be due to an increase of a few thousandths of a per cent increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, never once mentioning the real problem. The News Media and the weathermen comes up with more garbage with increasing ingenuity. It is time to lay them all off and to put them back to work in real jobs making widgets one again that people can used and will pay their good money for instead of handouts from a wealth spreading president..

Albuquerque may be a “Hole”, and the east wind may come whipping through the Tjeras and other canyons through the mountains to keep out the snow, but it has been doing this no differently for thousands of years, Normally, it blows away the snow at lower levels (in the city), but dumps it at higher levels (in the mountains). There must be something different going on in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, namelly the extensive cutting of the rainforest around the Pacific basis as a result of over population. I wish the News Media would get their act together or resign and get real jobs making real widgets that we all can use.
