I’m happy that I am only a non-paying reader of the Albuquerque Journal. Non-paying readers get the headlines, but we don’t get all the details of the bad news. Since I don’t go to the sports section very often, I seldom see any headlines of good news stories (if there are any).

If there were only more good news stories, I might consider becoming a paying reader of the Albuquerque Journal website again. Here are some of the good news stories I would like to see. (1) The economy is booming with a budget surplus. (2) Two million high paying jobs were created last month. (3) Intel is building a two million dollar expansion facility in Albuquerque. (4) Bernanke forecast a booming economy, a budget surplus, and balanced budgets for the next four years. (5) Ford and Nissan gears up to expand with new fuel-efficient, alternatively-fueled models in the coming year. (6) Cowboy Dez Bryant starts a family violence clinic in Dallas. (7) The London olympics is destined to be a money maker with a record attendance of most events, and it will not require the management skill of a Mitt Romney in order to break even. (8) The wife of Chicago Cups President Theo Epstein gives birth to healthy quintuplets. (9) Seahawks Lynch is again on top of a record performance and signs a 10 million dollar contract. (10) Brown University praises Joe Patero as the “Winningest football coach of all time”. Now, this is the kind of newspaper that I want to read. I know! I am probably living on another planet.

The Journal does a pretty good job…I like the sports section best of all and usually read it first. Cody Ross, a Carlsbad baseball player for the Boston Red sox keeps hitting homer and that delights all us ex=Carlsbad residences. The Journal keeps us posted on him and other locals who made good in sports…
