I hate these ‘tween months, don’t you. College basketball and football are really my sports. I try to make baseball fill in but it just don’t work as that really  comes down to me pulling for Cody Ross, Boston Red Sox outfielder, a Carlsbad, NM boy and that’s about it. He is doing good and I grab the paper each morning mainly for the box scores.  And for professional football, The Dallas Cowboys are it and except for those getting in trouble there is little news on that front. But soon….. College football is now only days away so I am getting pumped up. Makes mowing the grass easier realizing we are getting closer and the players playing in the grass, freshly mowed and striped, and numbered is nearer. The boys of fall are now trying to sweat off the summer fat and get the muscles in shape to do some “hittin”, some “hard hurtin’ hittin'”. Coaches are pushing the heck out of his boys trying to make a team…. We are all new here at the University of New Mexico, new coaches, new system, a lot of new players and a new season. “Bring it on”…….We are ready and while the Lobos may not win them all I have a feeling we gonna do good. If we can win 5 games this year, it will be a successful year and I am hoping for more than five. My boys down at New Mexico State should have a good year also. The WAC conference seems to be on the way out and the Mountain West is in limbo as to where our conference is going, but which ever way it is, New Mexico State does not look to be invited. I think MWC should reconsider the Aggies but I don’t get a vote. ……..Lets play some football, huh?   Are you ready?…..
