Is this a four wheeler? It looks like a modified four-wheel drive pickup truck equipped for mountain driving. By the way, how did your grandson get it on top of this rock? It looks like it was picked up by a helicopter and set up there. When your grandson does do something, it is obvious that he does it right by not merely buying a cheap four wheeler from Walmart without even a roll bar.
Well, I don’t know a lot about it, but it is 4 wheel drive and he takes it to impossible locations. Best thing about it is that it is radio controlled. Both grandsons have one, but this is the only 4 wheel drive and it can climb almost anywhere. Looks real, huh?
Radio controlled! So these are the toys that kids play with nowadays. And we only had bicycles, tricycles, and John Deere tractors in the Fifties. I don’t know whether to stand up and shout “Hallelujah” or sit down and cry. It looks like a nice machine. If I had had access to one of these in the Fifties, it may have changed my mind about converting Dad’s smokehouse into a chemistry laboratiory. But I doubt it. I never liked fancy machines all that much in spite of the fact that we have a relatively late model Cadillac Escalade and a Mercedes Benz, M Class both of which my wife picked out.
He did not offer to let me play with it…Probably too high tech for me….
with the first number indicating the total number of wheels on a vehicle and the second indicating the number of driven wheels. Today, the term 4×4 is common in North America, and is generally used when marketing a new or used vehicle, and is sometimes applied as badging on a vehicle equipped with four-wheel drive. Similarly, 4×2 would be appropriate for most two-wheel-drive vehicles, and is often used to describe them as a two-wheel drive. In Australia the term is often used to refer to a ute that sits very high on its suspension. This is to avoid the confusion that the vehicle might be a 4×4 because it appears otherwise suited to off-road applications.
Oh, ok…thanks for that information..2 wheel is more than enough for me. However, some folks really depend on the tough, sturdy vehicles….Thanks for your comments…Pete
