No, Santa Claus is not always white….We had a teacher tell a black student here in New Mexico a few days ago that Santa Claus was white. He has been suspended. We all know Santa is multi-racial and multi-cultural, always has been. But, you tell me when you describe Santa what do you say…..Yeah, fat, white, white beard, rosy cheeks, glasses and a hardy laugh….always white in the ads on TV and in the newspapers, etc. Ever since that incident I have taken note, NO BLACK SANTA’S, NO BROWN SANTA’S ….So, again, as with Phil on Duck Dynasty, we shoot the messenger….How dare the teacher tell a student that Santa is white? Even the teacher had never seen a Santa that wasn’t white….But, we took care of him… All the while every example we see daily, everywhere you look, you see a white Santa…..Are we crazy or what?… Pete

Santa is white only when he slips and falls off his sleigh into a snow bank. When covered with snow, he is white; otherwise, you’re right, Santa is multi-cultural, multi-racial, and, even multi-gender. If you are in doubt, just look closely at the provider of the toys in each household, and you will find that Santa fits the description of that main provider, rather father, mother, or main friend of the framily. In my personal life, I always visualized Santa Claus as being in the form of Woodrow, my father, because I knew in my heart that he is where my toys always came. I knew he could do anything, even fly across the world in a sleigh with a team of reindeer if he had to as well as climb down and out of a chimney. (At the time, my world only consisted of the distance from one horizon to the other anyway, making that not so very hard to believe.) You may call me stupid if you like, but this is how I personally answered that epermeral question that I hear asked every year, Is there a Danta Claus? Of course, there is Virginia. There is a Santa Claus if you have a loving Dad or a loving Mom. If you don’t have that, then you are in hurting status anyway, and the question does not really apply.
