Jury Duty….

Well, many of us go but few of us serve. I don’t know the criteria of a juror, but I don’t have it. I think you must have to  look smart or intelligent or alert, well, maybe I’m just different. Anyway, I have not been selected to sit in on a trial yet. A whole bunch of folks chime in on why they should not serve, while I have been quiet, just waiting to be picked, but they have not chosen me…yet. I have another week to go, and they may be saving me and a few others for the BIG one. I think I am really glad that I have been passed over, on the other hand, I would like to sit through at least one (I think) to see how the process works. But, you hear of those cases that go several weeks with the jurors being sequestered and I am sure they are not happy campers suffering through such as that. Like everything else I guess, you are danged if you do and danged if you don’t. One lady I spoke with today, her Mom was ill back in New Jersey, her house had just been flooded due to faulty plumbing and workman were there redoing several rooms to her house,, so I ain’t gonna complain, no sir, I ain’t….. I’m probably  much better off writing  this blog, relaxing in my jammies, than listening to a lawyer tell me how innocence or guilty the party involved is or was and it is my duty to……..well, whatever he or she would want me to consider….Yeah, this blogging ain’t bad…

Uncle, the first time I was really looking forward to be on a jury. But the next four or five times I was hoping not to get picked…. The last time was the only time I wasn’t picked…. Four days going to count house twice a day until Thursday then back to work on Friday….

I go online to see if I need to show up at the court house. At 4:30 in the afternoon, we can view the numbers (they show our number, not names) of those jurors needed to show up the next morning or afternoon. If we are not needed, we continue working for Mommason, or if we don’t want to work for Mommason, we pretend we are on jury duty….no, no, that’s not the way it works…if we are not needed we stay home and check again the next day. So far, I have gone to the court rooms but have not yet been chosen to serve. It’s ok if I don’t serve…I can watch Perry Mason reruns, huh?…
