Immigration Reform…..Fixed…(Duck Tape Style)

Posted by Pete | Posted in News | Posted on 21-11-2014

Oh, wow, now the immigration reform is fixed and  we can forget about that and move on to something else. The democrats have their new voters and the government can provide more services, etc, etc, so everything is now ok. The border can start letting new illegals through so we can reform the newly reformed immigration in another 5 or ten years, unless of course we find that this reformed immigration did not do enough, then we must try another reform….I love America….

The next fix….Homeless America Fix…..Now, we have all those FEMA trailers that no one is using down in Louisiana, so I suggest that we move them around America’s big cities, building a few more to go with those of course, and let the homeless move into them, rent free for up to 5 years or so…Now if they are over 70, then lifetime free rent…Those younger than 70 will just have to pay rent if they are US citizens…Illegals, rent free, well until we have a immigration reform granting them citizenship, then they have to pay….Wind generators will be built to allow the trailers to be all electric so that there will be no utilities other than water….We may work something out about free water depending on the location of the trailers. For example, New Orleans, water is free….Albuquerque, you have to pay if water is available…No water, you must drink wine or maybe milk or a few beers now and then….Folks, its cold out there on the streets this time of year and this is something that must be given serious consideration….Most of these folks are already US citizens and shouldn’t we give them as much consideration as we do folks who are not American citizen?…Gee, I don’t know…..Seems like if we don’t have enough problems of our own, we go out looking for them…Speaking of problems, did you know that the silvery minnow here in the Rio Grande River is not getting enough water and some times during most years the Rio Grande River dries up around Belen and San Antonio, NM…Now that’s another problem we need to tackle….We’ll think of some more problems in the next few days, I mean, when you are doing a DUCK TAPE fix there should be lots of problems we can solve…..

The Statue of Liberty

This is an e-mail that is going around…one that I fully agree with. See what you think…
The Statue of Liberty
For some reason, people have difficulty structuring their arguments when arguing against supporting the currently proposed immigration revisions. This lady made the argument pretty simple. NOT printed in the Orange County Paper ….
Newspapers simply won’t publish letters to the editor which they either deem politically incorrect (read below) or which does not agree with the philosophy they’re pushing on the public. This woman wrote a great letter to the editor that should have been published; but, with your help, it will get published via cyberspace!
From: “David LaBonte”
My wife, Rosemary, wrote a wonderful letter to the editor of the OC Register which, of course, was not printed. So, I decided to “print” it myself by sending it out on the Internet. Pass it along if you feel so inclined. Written in response to a series of letters to the editor in the Orange County Register:
Dear Editor:
So many letter writers have based their arguments on how this land is made up of immigrants. Ernie Lujan for one, suggests we should tear down the Statue of Liberty because the people now in question aren’t being treated the same as those who passed through Ellis Island and other ports of entry.
Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people like Mr. Lujan why today’s American is not willing to accept this new kind of immigrant any longer. Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to the United States, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented. Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home. They had waved good-bye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture. Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labor laws to protect them. All they had were the skills and craftsmanship they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity.
Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out. My father fought alongside men whose parents had come straight over from Germany, Italy, France and Japan. None of these 1st generation Americans ever gave any thought about what country their parents had come from. They were Americans fighting Hitler, Mussolini and the Emperor of Japan. They were defending the United States of America as one people. When we liberated France, no one in those villages were looking for the French-American or the German-American or the Irish-American. The people of France saw only Americans. And we carried one flag that represented one country. Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up another country’s flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here. These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be an American. They stirred the melting pot into one red, white and blue bowl.
And here we are with a new kind of immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges. Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes the entitlement card and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country. I’m sorry, that’s not what being an American is all about. I believe that the immigrants who landed on Ellis Island in the early 1900’s deserve better than that for all the toil, hard work and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better life. I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags.
And for that suggestion about taking down the Statue of Liberty, it happens to mean a lot to the citizens who are voting on the immigration bill. I wouldn’t start talking about dismantling the United States just yet.

KEEP THIS LETTER MOVING. FOR THE WRONG THINGS TO PREVAIL THE RIGHTFUL MAJORITY NEEDS TO REMAIN COMPLACENT AND QUIET!! LET THIS NEVER HAPPEN!!

I sincerely hope this letter gets read by millions of people all across the nation!

Concerns……

Immigration: Legal immigration is good…Illegal immigration is bad….You cannot reward illegal actions….You got to send the illegals home and have them get their papers….No if, buts, or maybes…That’s just the way it is…..

Looting and arson: It is bad and sad when any one is killed by law enforcement officers. It has happened far to often here in Albuquerque and some folks have  gotten very upset and rightly so. however, no one burned down any business and looted and robbed stores. And it is hard for me to condone anyone who would do that.   Those actions can never be justified.

Obamacare: What did that guy mean, “the American people are stupid”. Most of us had no choice in the matter and if given the opportunity to the American people, it would have never passed. There are a bunch of “stupid” people in this world and the majority of them are in Washington. The “Pass it, then read it” congresswoman is where we can start.

College football playoff: I think we are going to be bitterly disappointed with the new playoff system. I don’t think it is nearly as fair as the basketball playoff. One of the reasons, conference teams playing so many conference teams. Strong conferences, ie, SEC, Big Ten, Big Twelve, Pac 12, ACC, get to beat up on each other, and either one of those conferences  may have several of the strongest teams in the nation. And they are not selected….It ain’t gonna work…..I say, it ain’t gonna work….

Religion: Freedom to choose where and when you worship or freedom to not worship at all, that’s the way it should be. Catholics, Baptist, Methodist, Buddhist, none or whatever is ok with me. My understanding that the  Muslin’s  will offer you a chance to join them and if you don’t it is ok to kill you and furthermore, don’t you be coming around and trying to tell them about your religion, which is also a very serious sin. I believe those folks are a little twisted…..I think they all go back to Ishmael…God promised to make them a great nation, or maybe He said nations……I don’t remember all of it that’s recorded in the Bible, but did He say weird? Well, I don’t know about that….You never see Muslin Hospitals, Muslin’s Church Centers, Muslin’s schools, Muslin’s cheerleaders, ….ok, maybe I’m going a little overboard, but what’s your take on them?…. The men are a happy fighting bunch, the ladies look like they are ready to cry….ok, ok already, give it up Hester, give it up!!!!

Global Warming…Now Tell Me about it again….

Is it just me, are is there something missing or even wrong about all this global warming bs. I have heard it now for a few years, as I put on more clothing for winter, stay in the house more during the winter months, wait all winter long for nice days to get out and prepare the garden spot or flower beds, watch the weather reports as my friends and kin up north dig out from all the snow storms, watch news reports of  cars slipping and sliding all over Atlanta, I say Atlanta, listen to the freeze warning in Florida, I say in Florida, hear talk about a Artic Vortex (which I have never heard of before), and I could probably think up some more, but I am sure you get my point…Tell me again about the global warming…Does it just do a selective placement of warming,  say the middle east or some other far away place…..I don’t think it is Albuquerque, NM and maybe not Atlanta, GA and I don’t think Birmingham, Al…But those of you who know, please share it with us here…ok?…Thanks

If you will note in the featured posts, I now have 18 chapters of Zachary Williams posted. I have a few more chapters to go then the entire book will be on here. Thanks for reading it. I have stopped on Follow the Sun, looking for a new brain storm to come along, however, I have been told to just go ahead and write, but I probably do to much of that….I’m lazy, lazy, I reckon, but we will see if something spurs me soon. Keep coming back, ok?

Pvt. John Middleton Hester, Co. D, 41st Alabama Infantry…

John Middleton Hester

John Middleton was born in Pickens County, Alabama about 2 miles south of Coalfire. He was a blacksmith and farmer like his father before him. He enlisted in Company D of the 41st Alabama Infantry Regiment at Pickensville, Alabama on the 27 March 1862 by H. Talbird. He did his school of the soldier in Tuscaloosa near the University of Alabama.
After their school of the soldier the 41st was sent to Tennessee. On Oct. 10, 1862, John Middleton was chosen to be apart of the Color Guard of the Regiment, this was a very big honor, to be selected for the Color Guard a soldier had to show steadfastness and bravery in battle.
On 24 March 1863 he was appointed to the special services as a teamster, a few days later he was given the position of Division Wagoneer, by order of Gen. John C. Brickinridge.
He was sent to Vicksburg, Miss. with a supply wagon train. John Middleton was it Vicksburg during the 47 day siege. After Vicksburg fell he was paroled and sent to Demoplis, Alabama, and from there I think he went home to Coalfire.
Military records show him back with the 41st in January, as he got $88.00 back pay from May 1, 1863 to December 31, 1863.
I believe he is with the 41st as it goes to Virginia to be apart of the Army of Northern Virginia.
The next military records on him shows him on a roll of prisoner war in Columbus, Miss. In May of 1865. He is paroled there on May 19, 1865. Now how he got to Columbus I’m not sure, but I think he was sent back to Alabama or Mississippi to get supplies. Because the Army of Northern Virginia did have any food for soldiers or animals.
After the war he returned to his home in Coalfire, married Rebecca Wilkins and they had five children.
I am proud to say John Middleton Hester is my Great-great-grandfather. It is an honor to me to be apart of this Confederate soldiers family….Daniel E. Hall

Thanks to Danny Hall, my nephew who wrote the article….This is a reprint from “Rebel Yell”, Grizz’s Corner, published by Southern Press, Gordo, Al….Thanks to both for this story reprint…My great-grandfather…

Monday Night Football Spectators…

Two grandsons and their dates spent some time at The AT&T Cowboy stadium on Oct 27th. You might recall that is the Monday night that The Redskins scalped the Cowboys. Like me, both of the grandsons are died in the wool Cowboy fans and them losing is bad, real bad, especially to the dad barn Redskins. But the dislike of the Redskins aside, both boys and their girlfriends had wonderful time. One of the grandson’s girl friends sister is a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader and I guess they got a grand tour. So they had all kind of fun, including both boys kicking several field goals from the twenty yard line. They made them or most of them anyway.. ….. Now that’s a way to spend a Monday night, win or lose, I am sure that was a fun time.
