Tebow’s Mission??Pam Tebow’s Story

Tebow and the Bronco’s did not win the game last night….No, they lost by a big margin….But I have this feeling that Tim Tebow’s mission in life is far greater than throwing or running a football. And he is right, the football games have provided him a platform from which to launch into his lifetime work….I definitely think he will be serving Our Lord and Savior is some capacity and I believe he will do it well….I don’t know how long he will play football, but he knows that his long term goals is not on the football field, but rather it is reaping the harvest for Our Heavenly Father…..No, he has never told me about his long term goals, but you just get that feeling….a warm and fuzzy feeling from a Christians point of view, that his days on a football field are numbered, but his days serving our Master has just begun…..Go, Tim, Go……GB2…..Pete Hester

Here is Pam Tebow’s story…..

Pam’s  Story

In a recent email, I read about a woman named Pam, who knows  the pain of considering abortion. More than 24 years ago, she and her husband  Bob were serving as missionaries to the Philippines and praying for a fifth  child. Pam contracted amoebic dysentery, an infection of the intestine caused by  a parasite found in contaminated food or drink. She went into a coma and was  treated with strong antibiotics before they discovered she was  pregnant.

Doctors urged    her to abort the baby for her own safety and told her that the medicines had    caused irreversible damage to her baby. She refused the abortion and cited her    Christian faith as the reason for her hope that her son would be born without    the devastating disabilities physicians predicted. Pam said the doctors didn’t think of it as a life, they thought of it as a mass of fetal tissue.

While pregnant, Pam nearly lost their baby four times but    refused to consider abortion. She recalled making a pledge to God with her    husband: If you will give us a son, we’ll name him Timothy and we’ll make    him a preacher.

Pam ultimately spent the last two months of her    pregnancy in bed and eventually gave birth to a healthy baby boy August 14,    1987. Pam’s youngest son is indeed a preacher. He preaches in prisons, makes    hospital visits, and serves with his father’s ministry in the Philippines . He    also plays football. Pam’s son is Tim Tebow.

The University of Florida    ’s star quarterback became the first sophomore in history to win college    football’s highest award, the Heisman Trophy. His current role as quarterback    of the Denver Broncos has provided an incredible platform for Christian    witness. As a result, he is being called The Mile-High Messiah.

Tim’s    notoriety and the family’s inspiring story have given Pam numerous    opportunities to speak on behalf of women’s centers across the country. Pam    Tebow believes that every little baby you save matters. I pray her tribe will    increase!

May the peace    of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you    always!

Patriots Tebow Too???

We have all made a lot out of Tim Tebow praying, even giving a new word for dropping to one knee to give thanks to the Almighty or to ask the Almighty for favors….But Christian young men on sports teams are not really new nor are they limited to Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos…I have been a Christian most of all my adult life but sometimes I acted like anything but a Christian and at times I did not feel like much of a Christian…At times, we all seem to get off on the wrong path and seek help in our prayer lives….The bible says, “the prayers of a righteous man prevailth much” and there in lies the difference in most of our prayer lives….My point is, there are good Christian men on both the Patriots and Broncos teams and I do think that those men will make a difference. I am glad Tim Tebow has pointed so many to Christ in such a short time, but that said, God is a just God and He hears all those prayers going up at game time from both teams….The Patriots are favored to win the game  and they should win, but don’t forget about, “the prayers of a righteous man”….which team is he on????

What a year….I did pick Alabama in the BCS Championship game but against Oklahoma…Well, I got the best half correct anyway….In the final 25 standings for the 2011 season, the SEC was No. 1, AL, No 2,LSU No 5, ARK , No. 9, S CAR, No. 19  GA,….. the Big 12 , No. 3, OK ST, No. 13, Baylor, No.  15, Kan St, No. 16, OKLA,….PAC 12, No. 4, OR, No. 6. USC, No. 7, Stanford,… Mountain West, No. 8, Boise St., No.14, TCU, …. Big 10, No. 10, WISC, No. 11, Mich St, No. 12, Mich, No. 24, NEB…..Big East, No. 17, WVA, No. 25, Cinn….C-USA. No. 18, Houston, No. 20, Sou Miss…..ACC, No. 21, Va Tech, No. 22, Clemson, No. 23, Fla St….Sooo, the SEC not only had the National Champion in Alabama they were well represented in the top twenty five….Our congratulations to Coach Sabin and the Alabama Crimson Tide….They proved they were the undisputed champions by keeping the Tigers under 100 yards in offense, and in general just beating the crap out of them, and proved to this writer that they did in fact have a kicker…… Now, next year, with a new coach here in New Mexico, we are looking forward to winning several games….I don’t know and will not say how many, but we will win some games…mark it down…It is over for this year, an exciting year and I think we can expect some changes in the BCS methods of madness for next year..But, who really knows….I think I will Tebow on it some……Pete Hester

Talking birds…

Did you read that down around Sidney, Australia, parrots that can speak human words and phrases have been returned to the wilds or have escaped to the wilds and are teaching the wild parrots how to talk?….Wouldn’t that be weird to hear several of them speaking….A feller could be strolling out through with woods and hear, “want a cracker?” or “what’s up mate?” or maybe, “stick’um up!”…well, the last one may be far out, but it could happen…Anyway, they say it is really taking place and folks are amazed that the trained speaking birds are teaching other birds to talk…..I guess that proves, “birds of a feather stick together”….Well, it kind’a does….

Busy, Busy…No time for writing

You remember that I told you no.2 son bought a house….Well, no. 2 grand daughter bought a house and a bunch of painting has been required. Old grand pappy can paint, er, make a mess on the walls and call it painting anyway…But they have been keeping me busy…..Sweetie still needs me time to time, so I have been doing everything ‘cept writing. I’ll think on some thing while the colors keep changing on the walls….How about how our soul’s and life need repainting ever so often….We need to renew or repaint the old heart, refresh it in the Holy Spirit, come to terms with an aging body…all that stuff…Ok, I will think on it a good bit and let you know…Later…
