What A Reader Said On My “Liberal’s Riot” Posting

A Comment To Hesterbooks.com From Errol:

When liberals lose an election, the reaction is like that of the Communists, win or lose, because a communist win is never complete without a demonstration of it in the streets to consolidate power. When conservatives lose, an appeal is always made to existing law and power structure to turn things around because conservatives are never revolutionists because, if they were, they would not be conservative at all, but a part of the liberal element. The difference is so simple. Conservatives work within the law, as it exist, in order to change that law. Liberals work outside the law in order to gain sufficient power by military or other means to force a change in the law and power structure.

Trump Is Correct About The Media

The media has us Americans in it’s hand. What we know about the world is for the most part determined by the media. Right of wrong, it’s how we know what is going on in the world and if it is tainted by the right or left, so be it and it ends up on local and national news. And we believe it…..The other day I learned that the Mexico”s southern border is protected by fences and 50 caliber machine guns in lookout towers by an item on Facebook. Ok, so maybe that is not a good place of news, however, daily I read some news on Facebook. This morning I learned in a article in the Albuquerque Journal that I, as a resident of Albuquerque, was against the immigrant ban of Mr. Trump’s, and against the wall. The Albuquerque Journal went on to say that about 1000 people protested at the Albuquerque airport yesterday and that was how they made that determination about me as a citizen of this fair city of five or six hundred thousand folks. That’s a better news source than Facebook, right? Well, I don’t know if that is true or not……Pretty good, huh? So, is Mr. Trump correct? I would think that the two cases reported above is some validation to his theory…..I suppose it could be said that hesterbooks.com is a form of media as I am visited by 150 to 200 folks every day. Do they believe everything they read here? Probably not. I report on the other tainted news sources and then add a bit of my heart and head to it, but to call it news would be a stretch. However, you and me both have to do that with the other media sources and Mr. Trump has figured that all out. His election to POTUS proves that. ….I wonder if the media will ever figure it out?  …..You reckon?

Liberals Riot…..It’s the Liberal Way

Boy, when the liberals lose they do get upset…. block the streets, burn cars and businesses, steal, rob, shoot police and do bodily harm to those who get in their way. You don’t see that when a liberal wins an election….Wonder why?…Are we conservatives older, more settled, smarter or maybe more caring….These protesters don’t  care that the cost to rebuild after one of their protest runs into the millions of dollars.  I’m kind of getting tired of that type thinking and action and I imagine the rest of America is also……If it is necessary for you to protest, could you please be as kind, caring, peaceful and loving as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.?…….. Naw, Well I didn’t think so…

Poems by Pete…Another Lord’s Day

J. I. Bonner was my Mother’s dad, my grand father. He was a very kindly man and I loved him very much, as did his other grand children. I had him in mind when I wrote this next poem in 1958 or 1959.

Another Lord’s Day by E. V. Pete Hester

Down a piney road,
Toward the old folks home,
a-walking I went that way.
A gray haired man with a twinkle in his eye,
I chanced to meet that day.

I spoke “Good Morn”,
And he replied with a voice shaky but gay,
“And how are you my good young man,
On this another Lord’s Day.”

“But my”, I said, “you’re wrong my friend,
it’s very near mid-week.” “Not I that’s wrong,”
he smilingly said, then sat down by the creek.

Then I sat too, just to be near,
His charming and smiling face.
And he pointed up past the pines,
To where the skies and clouds embrace.

“See the sun there, how it smiles at us,
been that way eighty odd years.
And this creek here, listen how it sings,
Songs you and I can hear.”

“That bird, see him?
A mocking bird for sure.
He’ll go to singing soon. And look there,
In that tree, an old owl waiting for the moon.”

“That squirrel a-sitting, watching us,
that nut he’s about to eat,
and that old red-headed wood pecker ,
is about to have a treat.”

He went on and on, still smiling,
His eyes still bright and gay,
I thought and smiled, he’d made his point,
Tis truly, another Lord’s Day.

A Repost…Written by Ben Stein…Finding God Again..

Only hope we find GOD again before it is too late ! !

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.
My confession:I don’t like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don’t think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can’t find it in the Constitution and I don’t like it being shoved down my throat…Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren’t allowed to worship God as we understand Him? I guess that’s a sign that I’m getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it’s not funny, it’s intended to get you thinking. In light of recent events… terrorists attack, school shootings, etc.. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O’Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn’t want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school… The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn’t spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock’s son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he’s talking about.. And we said okay..Now we’re asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don’t know right from wrong, and why it doesn’t bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with ‘WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.’

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world’s going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send ‘jokes’ through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you’re not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit.

If not, then just discard it… no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don’t sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.

My Best Regards, Honestly and respectfully,

Ben Stein

New Year’s Day….Scary Problem…Almost

New Year’s eve we went to looking in the freezer for the black eyed peas….Gasp, we were out….But no problem as I hopped into the car for a few block trip to the store to make the purchase that would assure us good luck for 2017. I looked and looked but could not find them. I had to ask a clerk to help me. We hurried over to the black eyed pea department and guess what…double gasp, they were out. So I drove several more block to another supermarket, found the black eyed peas  right away. I bought 4 packages just to be sure we had enough and some for during the year if the first batch did not bring good enough luck, we could then have another mess….well, I’m not sure I really believe all that stuff…but just in case, I’m going ahead and eating a batch and yeah, I’ll probably fortify them from time to time during the year…You never know, right?

Roanhaus Stepping down…Clovis, NM High School Football Coach

Eric Roanhaus is stepping down as Clovis New Mexico High School football coach…One of the all time New Mexico greats. Thirty-nine years as head coach.. That’s right, 39 years. 343 – 141 – 5 record,  10 state championships and from 1981 – 1985 he won 5 straight championships. And he won 62 playoff games…..What a coach. A lot of young men were pleased to have called him coach over the years……Of course, he is also the king of the one liners. When asked what he would do with himself after 44 years of coaching at Clovis, he replied, “Maybe they will put me out to pasture. I know they put thoroughbreds out to pasture to stud, but at 70, that’s totally out of the question.”…..Goodbye Coach, we are going to miss you.

From my book…Cousin’s, Chapter Six, Big Momma

chapter_six_big_momma  Cousins is a work of fiction. Chapter Six is almost all factual with some name changing, etc. My grandfather’s dying is actual. Big Momma is real. The story of her baptism was related to me as being factual. And her place in my heart remains unchanged, I loved her and part of her will always live inside of me. I hope you enjoy the story.
