If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

So this weekend we can all pray for forgiveness,  turn from our sin and God will heal our land.

Stay home…wear a mask if we get out…enjoy your back yard

Oh, yeah….Now I remember. Weekends, we used to watch sports, live sports and some of us went to church, many of us going to church, picking up some burgers or fried chicken on the way home to have while we watched the game on TV….Always fussing if the preacher preached a bit long cutting into the first quarter of the game or some of the game at least….Anyway, something along those lines. Now we watch church on TV and most of us are proud to get that. Maybe God looked down at us and said, “How can I get these folks attention?” And He has done just that, hasn’t He…. And the rest of our week?…Well, that’s all screwed up as well, ain’t it….A worldwide pandemic, political unrest, economy is a turmoil, security of our citizens in peril,   socializing stopped, unemployment at a all time high, many working from home if we are lucky enough to be still working. Family games, reading, playing with the pets, walking, jogging, cooking, working around the house, repairing stuff…..Well, it’s different, but kind’a of nice, ain’t it….Yeah, I miss that old grind also….

We do not have to wonder if the treasure really exists anymore. Someone sent Mr. Fenn a picture of the of the treasure chest leading him to believe it had been found, somewhere in the Rocky Mountains north of Santa Fe, but he would not give out the finders name or the exact location of the treasure. I’m pretty sure I had it all figured out but may never really know for sure. I’m still of the opinion it was north and west of Abiquiu…. It was fun while it lasted. Thanks Mr. Fenn, you kept a bunch of folks busy for several years.

Today we went for some of Albuquerque’s  own Bob’s Burgers…We love his Ranchero Supremes,( lettuce, tomatoes, beef, cheese and green chilies). And his onion rings are also delicious. Only thing about going there  nowadays, they have put up a glass where the open ordering window used to be. It stretches from side to side, and from the top to about six or eight inches from the bottom. The ordering bar is about four feet wide. The young lady behind the counter was a towering 4′ 6″ or so and we both had on our face masks….Oh, and I’m kind of hard of hearing. I ordered two small Ranchero Supremes’ and two orders of  onion rings. Then she said, “Would you li..mumble, mumble, mumble>” I said what. She repeated the mumbles. Again I repeated the “what”. She placed her elbows on the bar, hoisted herself up to where the glass was and spoke under the six inch opening, Would you like the original or supreme?”…I repeated the order to her…She started punching on the cash register. Then another mumble, mumble…Under my mask I had to smile and by the looks in her eyes, she was also smiling. Again, with a swift placing of the elbows and hoisting her eighty or ninety pounds up on the bar  said under the glass, “did you want large or small?” Both small I confirmed. Again, some mumbling…”Do what?” was again my response. And again she hoisted herself back up on the bar and said, Now, I am laughing under the mask… “That will be 12.36” or something like that. Anyway, I was so tired after her doing all that work that I was plenty ready to get the ordering of lunch out of the way. She was cute and I’m sorry I made her work so hard. You know talking through mask ain’t all that easy, is it? Especially if you have to do a lot of climbing

Do you remember Jerry Clower? I thought about one of his jokes today….Well, our covid-19 is no joking matter but we do need to smile at ourselves ever once in a while. Anyway, back to his joke. Seems as though him and one of his cousins were out coon hunting one night and the dogs treed one, they thought. They caught up with the dogs and could not get the coon to jump out of the tree. One of them got the notion to climb the tree and throw the coon out. Well, when he got up to the top of t he tree he discovered  it was not a coon but an old bob cat, and the bob cat was madder than an old hornet. He hollered down to his cousin to shoot him, to which the cousin replied, I’m afraid to shoot cause I might hit you…He hollered back, “that’s ok, go ahead and shoot. One of us gotta have some relief. ….So, relief would also be welcomed now-a-days also…but don’t shoot just yet.

The paper aisle has bounced back. It is now full again. No so over on the meat aisle and the can good aisle, kind of picked over and lacking some items. There was stew meat available today but I was shocked at the price. I’ll try again next week. It different in the stores now….. No one speaks…..No laughing…..One way aisles….No one reading labels….Get in and get out…This too shall pass I suppose. I guess I had gotten in a groove about the old way of shopping and had not realized it. I kind of miss it now that I don’t have it. And I sure do miss the well stocked shelves. I reckon things could be a lot worse, huh?

It is very hard to get used to our new life without any sports on TV….Well, yeah, we do get the reruns and games and players of yesteryear….And that’s ok. But, I think we all are having trouble not having the baseball games on every night….Having our local AAA club not playing ball this year and being able to “take us out to the ballgame” for the home stands. We miss it. We could win it all this year…….And who would have ever thought that we would not have Easter Services at our local churches. That is even more surprising to me than no sports. I’m planning on TV church services this year. I’m not sure, but it may also be a rerun, but that’s ok. You see, it’s the same story as the last 2000 plus years….The Easter Story….Our Savior has risen. He is not here. This rerun remains as special as the first one for He has gone to prepare a place for all of us believers. He said, “If I go prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.” So, yes, He is Risen and we await His return….And this is not TV. It’s real….Come Lord Jesus..

The coronavirus is taking its toll across America. Seems as though right now at least, that the food industry is having trouble keeping  their employees working. Those guys and girls probably are in the 10 to 12 dollar per hour range, more or less…It’s tough for them even in good time and full employment, but when they miss a payday, it’s really tough. I’ve been there. Probably several of you people have been there also. This morning I was reading about the professional sports people and how that, long term, things might get a little tight for them. If the TV is not showing any sporting events and the sponsors are not paying the television people, then there is no money to pay the sport franchise’s, then there will soon be no money to pay the millionaire players. Now, that is a long way to fall, from millions to zero in sixty seconds and believe it or not, I think the food service employee’s will fare better than the millionaires. They are used to not having much and skimping by on little or none. No so with the millionaire. I know I am jumping the gun to say it will come to that, but….what if?…what then….those 4 million to 30 plus million a year employees file for unemployment? I can’t even imagine that. Lets hope that CBS and NBC and ESPN get back to work soon and the money keeps flowing to the billionaire owners so they won’t have to file for unemployment…I’m kidding….Sports means a lot to this country, in more ways than one. I hope and pray that in three to four weeks we are back to normal and our millionaire sports figures never miss a paycheck…and us bottom feeders don’t miss many…Amen?

Something is out there…I’m pretty sure of  that, and I am a Bible believer. Do you remember in Revelation where John is viewing the future and writing stuff down and then Jesus speaks and says, “Don’t write that down”, or words to that affect. I’m wondering if that was some of the things John was seeing. I certainly don’t know and I will not add to the Book of Revelation as instructed by our Lord, but I can wonder out loud about what John was seeing that Jesus did not want recorded…..yet, not shared at that time….. I wonder, since they are from somewhere in the heavens, if there are not UFO’s that are Satan followers and UFO’s that are God’s followers and they will be a large part of that great and final battle. Well, you have probably had some thoughts along those lines as well. If so, why don’t you share them with us here in the comment section. Even if you don’t share with us, think on the future some. That big battle is coming….

Switching to windows 10 has not been easy for me. But, as with anything I am coming around. Not completely there yet, but for a non-computer type person I am getting much better. Still much to learn….a person does not ever “ketch up”, does he? About the time you get one thing figured out, low and behold, they change to something else always insisting the new item is so much better. And oft times it is better…That said, it is still tough on us old farts. Oh well, such is life. We will get there…….I reckon
