Arkansas will keep it interesting until late in the fourth quarter, then the Tide pulls away from the Hogs, probably like 24 – 17….No. 1 GD will hate me, but Arizona is gonna lose again this week, Oregon by two touchdowns…..Sou Cal beats up on Arizona St……BYU might can beat UCF, we will see….Baylor cooks Rice this week….LSU beats West Virginia…San Diego St takes Michigan, Rocky beats his old boss…Nebraska beats Wyoming…Texas Tech beats Nevada…New Mexico beats Sam Houston St. I think, well, I hope, maybe we can…New Mexico St lost their quarterback last week but they should still be able to beat San Jose St. ..Oklahoma beats Missouri…Okla St beats Texas A & M, pretty sure A & M is favored but Okla St does them in….another upset, Vandy beat South Carolina…….South Dakota plays tough for a quarter but cannot hangs on as Wisconsin wins big…Back to the University of New Mexico for a second….The Lobos have to win the next three games (Sam Houston, NM St, Nevada) for Coach Locksley to have any hope of hanging on to his job at New Mexico. After that it is TCU, Air Force, San Diego St, UNLV, WY, and Boise St) He has to win six to stay I think, UNLV and Wyoming he might can win. So that would be five…..Can he beat Air Force? I don’t think so…..We play the games to see who will win them, so it is not over, however, it ain’t looking good is it???

Who says there is nothing to do around Carlsbad. And besides all this there is a river that runs through it. And there are some pretty large caverns just west of there. You might want to consider a visit down that way. This is number one son’s toy, however, I think he bought a new one the other day. Please read the comments as no. 1 son added some comments and valuable information for you four wheeler buffs….

At our reunion this year I was asking my cousin Zip, shown here with me, how he came up with the nickname Zip. He said the football coach was looking for someone who could do the deep snaps and get the ball back to the kicker in a hurry. The coaches words were, “I need someone who can put some zip on the ball.” So he snapped once and the coach hollowed out, “Now that’s what I’m talking about, he put some zip on it.” So, he got the deep snapper job for keeps and the name stuck until this day. He’s the one with all that hair, if you are wondering…..Old Zip…I think he could still deep snap a few….well, maybe not real deep…

Before I share the posting with you folks, I would like to state that the family of the victim has requested equal time to present their side of the story in the events of my cousin’s trial and incarceration. And if it is a well written report, honest and forthright, I might post it. However, this web site will refuse to be the sounding block on justice or lack thereof in Pickens County and the State of Alabama. “It just ain’t gonna happen.” So, please watch the comments and if the comments are retrying the case, it will be deleted. I don’t want to take away from Cousin’s message in this instant as it is well said:
Natural Disasters and Biblical Prophecy by Cousin Alan:
My cousin Pete has asked me to supply another article for his website posting. He said that something on spirituality would be good. That is right down my alley. I am a fan of Biblical Prophecy and with all the natural disasters that are occurring in these, the latter days, I thought it would be timely to touch on that subject. (para) The disciples asked Jesus in the book of Mathew, how will we know when the time has come? Jesus told them that there would be wars and rumors of wars, famine, earthquakes in different places, and pestilences. He said that nations will rise against nations and kingdom against kingdom. (para) Jesus said all these things are the beginning of sorrows, but the end is not yet. There is more that must take place before “the end” shall come, however, the “beginning of sorrows” began taking place hundreds of years ago. Nowadays, natural disasters, earthquakes, famine, pestilences, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, drought and flooding, to name a few, are talking place almost on a daily basis. This is no longer the beginning of sorrows. These things have well advanced toward a period of time that is said in the Bible to be the Tribulation period (7 Years), that will occur before the very end of our time and before God creates a new heaven and new earth. (para) These “birth pangs” as mentioned in the Bible are now happening on a regular basis. The woman is about to have a baby. That baby is Christ. The woman is Israel. (see Revelations). (para) The end is not yet, but the return of Jesus, for His Church, is looming ever so close. These are those days. The time for salvation is now. Oh, wait a minute. I just thought of something. What if we die tonight? Tomorrow is not promised. Will death bring us to our end? Yes, upon death it is too late for salvation. Too late!!! Cousin Alan from Alabama…..ROLL TIDE….

No. 3 son did some updating yesterday and some of the posting were lost as were some of the comments. If you were a part of that, sorry, however, it should make the site a little better in the long run. So, if you search for some past comments, they may not be there as I had to delete some because of the storage size. As I add new postings, from time to time I will be deleting old postings. My search engine gives me a record of those postings that have been put into the search engine. I will try and remember those and keep them available. Or if I like one them a lot, I might keep it… . Keep commenting though as we will keep everything for a while…..Thanks for you understanding. Pete….(No says no. 3 son you do not have to delete anymore postings because with the update we purchased a little more room for the site…)I don’t know how much more, maybe a bazillion bytes or something like that….anyway, a bunch more as I don’t want to get “technical” on you…..

Heritage chile is ready to ship and could be headed to your front door, per Justin Bannister, NMSU News Service…”This time of year where thousands of NMSU alumni across the country are starting to think about the taste and smell of roasted green chile. With this partnership, people can buy chile, have it shipped anywhere in the country and help benefit future chile pepper research, all at the same time.” In 2009, NMSU researchers partnered with Biad Chili to produce Biad’s Reserve NuMex Heritage 6-4, a super-flavored chile bred to have five times the flavor compounds and aroma of similar chiles grown today. Then last year Biad Chili released the hotter NuMex Heritage Big Jim, also with five times the flavor. For nearly 20 years the Chile Pepper Institute has conducted research at NMSU, while educating the students and advancing the legacy of NMSU researcher Fabian Garcia, considered the father of the modern chile industry. “With a portion of the proceeds from the online sales being donated to help establish a permanent chile pepper research endowment at the NMSU Foundation, both chile-loving alums and NMSU students will benefit from the unique partnership.”
Both the Heritage and other chile varieties are available whole or chopped from www.biadchili.com. For more information, visit www.chilepepperinstitute.org or call 575-646-3028……..( This year sweetie and I are trying some mild Lemitar, NM chiles. The few we tried last night seemed to be too mild, but they had a good flavor.)

Well, the best Mexican food I have ever tasted was this weekend in Las Cruces….At Nellie’s Cafe…..Four of us, all picky, picky on Mexican food agree it is Nellie’s….No. 3 son who lives in Wisconsin says it is his favorite as well. If any of you folks are going through Las Cruces and want to find Nellie’s it is at 1226 West Hadley in Las Cruces. Set your GPS..You will not regret it but be careful with the salsa…hot, by dang it is extremely hot…We ate there twice and the second day the salsa was not quite as hot as the first day. All of the items on the menu are great. They have a small seating area so allow plenty of time for waiting, but believe me it is worth the wait. We have some good places in Albuquerque but I don’t think any of them compare to Nellie’s. Nellie started in 1962, along with husband Danny…Danny retired in 1974 and passed away in 1998. Nellie is still cooking…aided by daughter Josie and son, Danny Ray…We talked to both of them, but Nellie was busy cooking…..wonderful folks and so very nice. Go by and visit and treat yourself to some great Mexican food. They have been featured in Sunset Magazine, Sept 1993, Road House Book Restaurant Guide, and reviewed in the El Paso Times and Las Cruces Sun News and now by hesterbooks.com…I rate them my top Mexican Food restaurant of all time…

Well, I’ve done it again. No. 1 grand daughter graduated from the University of Arizona…When the Wildcats play football, basketball, girls softball and maybe some other stuff, the world comes to a halt. That girl bleeds red and blue, or what ever the school colors are. I have left them out of my predictions. They whopped up on Northern Arizona last week pretty good. This week, tomorrow night in fact, they play Okla St. And you may remember that Oklahoma State kicked the living sh…..er, uh, stuffing out of them in one of the bowls, Alamo maybe, and now they meet again..and so soon…..But, it is different this time….Arizona wins it, its close but its a win….Alabama beats Penn St and its not really that close…Arkansas struggles but beats New Mexico….Auburn loses to Miss St….Wisconsin beats Oregon St….TCU beats Air Force, but barely..Texas beats BYU…Who is Stoney Brook?..And why did UTEP play them?…They barely beat them? I don’t know if UTEP can beat SMU or not….I’m gonna let you call that one….Maybe Stoney Brook is a real power this year, reckon? Oh yeah, New Mexico State, well they probably get beat but Minnesota pays them dearly for it, 7 – 800,000 or so. That ain’t bad, is it?( Oops on Arizona (9/9/11) WOW….New Mexico State Beat Minnesota, 28 – 21…..can you believe it? Good job Aggies…..Lobos did not fare so well, it ain’t looking good folks…ain’t looking so good a ‘tall….
