Well, I opened my bible this morning to see if anything had changed….Nope, it reads like it did last year, and the year before that, and the year before that and even back to when Big Momma Bonner told me the things that were wrong then….You know what?….It says they are still wrong. Thou shalt not kill, yet all over the nation the killing of unborn children is being done. Yet, a few folks say that’s ok now. Those folks need to think on that a good bit. And other folks are saying it is ok for a man to lie with another man. I checked this morning on that and it still says the same thing, don’t do it and since it is not right for man to do it I’m sure it’s not right for women to do it. Now, I’m not guilty on either one of those issues, but there are plenty I’m guilty of, only thing, I don’t pussy foot around about it trying to tell everyone that what I do is ok,  I just go ahead and pronounce myself guilty because the bible has convicted me of these sins, ask forgiveness and start trying  all over again to do better. One thing I know, I know for sure because of my deep belief in the bible, I’m gonna die and then comes life everlasting or the second death, one or the other…. Hell is an awful, awful, place….If you have read this far then I think you believe in the hereafter also…..Think on it a good deal, my friends…..Jesus Loves You….Turn from your sins…….

I am trying to organize a hunting expedition to search for Mr. Fenn’s treasure. I’m still thinking it is in New Mexico, his home state….Remember he’s an old man, well, kind of, too old to lug a 42 pound treasure chest a great distance. How far off the road would you think he would carry it and how rough do you think the terrain would be…Not very, if you ask me. I tried to carry my fishing tackle and tackle box down a twenty foot bank in a heavy rocked area, and I am in pretty good shape.  But hey, that was scary as crap. Mr. Fenn is not as old as me but he “ain’t” a heck of a lot younger, so believe me when I say, from a roadway to the resting site of the treasure is not very far. And he is a millionaire, how long is he going to be out driving around in the country side away from his cigars, toddies and demanding business????? Not long, not long at all. I would doubt all day, more like a half day. He has said, not in Utah, not in Idaho, not in Nevada, not around any structure and not around any graveyard and above 5000 feet and in the Rocky Mountains and at least 8.5 miles north of Santa Fe…….I should not say this publicly, with me trying to organize a hunting party, but just to say thanks for reading my site, here is my best guess today……RIO ARRIBA COUNTY, NEW MEXICO….Now, if you do find it based on my tip I would like one of the gold coins as a reward….ok?…Thank you and good hunting….Pete Hester…ps: remember the famed artist Georgia O’Keefe lived up at Ghost Ranch….Was she friends with Mr. Fenn?????

I appreciate it and am very humbled by the big numbers.

July 4th is over….Our fireplace mantel must be changed. All the flags, red, white and blue décor must be changed to, er, well, whatever sweetie elects to use…maybe angels….but it is important….I like her angels….

Calvary Chapel…Skip Heitzig is a heck of a preacher. He is really a teacher. Both Sweetie and I really enjoy his sermons and are fed by his teachings. Thank you Skip for making your sermons so interesting and informative. But Skip may be hard of hearing and if he is not, he soon will be in my opinion. His bands crank up the amps so loud it sounds like a rock concert, the bass can make your chest vibrate at times. Sweetie has often said she thinks I am hard of hearing….well, I sure ain’t down there. It will give you a head ache sitting though the music. I still want to attend, but I am wearing ear plugs until the amps burn out (they can’t last much longer). Don’t jump on me too much folks, I’m just being honest….I think this is important stuff….and you?  what you thinking?

NFL Training camps….July 20th is the start of training camp for the Dallas Cowboys. This year will be the year of the Cowboys, or, or…..they will be getting a new quarterback…what you think? Am I right? I like Romo and last year his  O line was suspect. I hope they have solved that problem. If not, then they still need to replace Romo with a more mobile quarterback, like Johnny Football down at A & M. Time is running out for Romo. That boy can get out, I say out, of some of the worse fixes you ever saw……And that boy can get himself into, I say into, some of the worse fixes you ever saw. You gotta love him but the time has come. Tony, we need a championship team this year….And Tony, this is really, I say really, important stuff…..

Cousins Reunion…..Down yonder in Coalfire, Alabama on July 13, 2013 at Coalfire Baptist Church. Right in the middle of town, folks, if you are traveling through you might want to stop. You will have to leave the four lane and drive through the town  and slow down a little bit so you don’t miss the church. They will be bringing pot luck, but since I will not be there this year, there should be plenty. I am gonna miss being there. We have lost two cousins since our last reunion…..but we know where they went….I think most all of our cousins were saved in that church, our granddad helped build it and died there like he said he would (read Chapter Six of Cousins in my downloads) so this  church is a very special place…..I sure hate to miss it…This is really, really important stuff…Pete Hester…..  ps…I am hoping one of the cousins that attended the reunion will give us a report on it……either here or in an e-mail to me. Thanks to everyone who has served this nation…We can enjoy our freedom this week and every week, thanks to a mighty nation and caring individuals that make up all our ranks. I like the words of our National Anthem, fourth stanza:

O, thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand, between their lov’d homes and the war’s desolation; Blest with vict’ry and peace, may the heav’n-rescued land, Praise the Pow’r that hath made and preserv’d us a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause is just, and this be our motto, “In God is our trust”, And the star-spangled banner in trumph shall wave, o’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

The path of some of our citizen makes us wonder of our nations direction, “looking forward”,  because it is certainly different than “looking back”. God and the Bible have been pushed into the back ground by so many people I wonder how long our motto can remain. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven and forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 …….You and I need to heed that advise….This week, will you join me in praying for our nation and our citizens? I heard this story yesterday, a very cute story and one I would like to share with you folks. A friend brought over a huge cup cake yesterday, the biggest I had ever seen. It had an angel food bottom and a strawberry top. The bottom was 4 or 5 inches thick and the strawberry topping was as tall as the cake and it extended an inch or so larger than the cake. And it was very good. Our friend, a retired teacher, said one of her former students brought it over for her birthday and she wanted to share it with us. She told this story while we were eating the cup cake:

While she was in first and second grade, her teachers always brought the birthday child a cup cake. Since her birthday was over in June she never got one. So in third grade toward the first part of the year the tradition continued for those student having a birthday. She really wanted one of those cupcakes since she had never had one and after another student had one she told the teacher that tomorrow was her birthday. The teacher said no, your birthday is in June. She told her, no that is a mistake, my birthday is tomorrow. The teacher brought her the cupcake and she really enjoyed it and the attention, so much so that a couple of weeks later she told the teacher she was going to have a birthday tomorrow. The teacher said, no, I don’t think so and called her dad about it. Well, she got a spanking for lying, spoiling the joy of the second cupcake. I don’t think she ever got another birthday cupcake while in school. Anyway, I though that was a very good story, one worth sharing with all of you. ……Pete

Someone is out for Paula Deen…..Who among us over sixty has not used the n word, including Rev. Al…..Why don’t someone axe him that…And he has probably used the word honky….Sooooo, are we on his back? Are you on my back because I admit I have used the n word. I have never used it to hurt someone to his or her face, but I have used it. Is that a reason to shoot me down from say writing this blog or doing what ever it is I am doing? Of course not. Someone one is more vicious than Paula Deen, I can tell you that. Their mission is to tear down Paula Deen, pure and simple….And I say shame on them….And shame on Ms. Deen’s sponsors for not waiting to hear the entire case….But then, they are all about money and they don’t care what happens to an individual. Hold your head up, Ms. Deen, we know the truth…….

  We have friends down in Houston that have a cabin up in the Jemez Mountains east of Cuba, NM. Here is an e-mail from them about a couple of concerns they have. I thought I would share it with you, our readers, since I too wondered about hunting for Mr. Fenn’s treasure during the fire season. Okay, I have not seen a UFO..I have read many stories from those who say they have. Have you seen a UFO, or several UFO’s? Well, why don’t you leave me a comment telling your story. You do not have to leave a real name if you do not wish to…make up a name, Star Gazer, Dark Walker, Deep Spacer, well, you can probably do better, but leave us a comment so we can wonder if you were drinking or not…No, I promise to not make light of your comments, however, I will probably be honest in my reply. …England has had many sightings. Are you from the UK and have seen something or have a friend who did?…..Let us know…
